Diamond Generating LLC (DG) is a world-class independent power producer with a successful track record as a developer, owner, manager and operator of power generation assets across North America. DG currently has ownership interest in 12 operating power generating facilities and 2 facilities under construction in the U.S. and Mexico, having total output capacity of approximately 7,700 MW, with net equity of 3,400 MW.

Boston Energy Trading and Marketing LLC (BETM) provides energy management and optimization services to owners of generation and energy storage in North America and wholesale energy to retail power and gas suppliers.

Satoshi Hamada
CEO
Diamond Generating Corporation

Satoshi Hamada is the CEO of Diamond Generating Corporation. Prior to joining DGC, Satoshi has over 20 years of experience in the IPP industry including development, contracting, financing and ownership of various power generating projects across Japan, Latin America, Europe and Middle East. Satoshi began his career with Mitsubishi Corporation in 1993; and since then has held various roles within Mitsubishi Corporation and DGC including Corporate Strategy and Planning, Team Leader for North American IPPs, and Director of Business Development.

Makoto Kawakami

Diamond Generating Corporation

Makoto serves as Chief Financial Officer of Diamond Generating Corporation. He is currently involved in overseeing the Accounting/Tax, Project Finance and Risk Management activities. He is also the chairman of Risk Management Committee. Prior to joining DGC, Makoto worked at the Mitsubishi Corporation participating in corporate strategy & planning, accounting and risk management. Makoto holds a LLB from Kyoto University and MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Yoshi Watanabe
GC & Chief Compliance Officer
Diamond Generating Corporation

Yoshihisa serves as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Diamond Generating Corporation and Diamond Generating LLC. He currently manages the legal risk and compliance activities of the organization, providing advice on various transactions, disputes, corporate governance and compliance related matters. Prior to joining DGC, he worked at the Legal and Compliance Department of Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas) in their New York office, serving as Deputy General Manager of Legal and then as the General Manager of Compliance.
Yoshihisa is admitted to the bar in New York. He holds a Bachelors of Law and Masters of Law degrees from Keio University in Tokyo, Japan and an LL.M from Columbia University.

Mike Blasik
VP Legal / Senior Counsel
Diamond Generating Corporation

Mike provides legal support for our Boston Energy Trading and Marketing unit. Mike has spent most of his 20-plus year legal career at BETM, with a brief period serving as outside counsel to solar project developers, including our Nexamp subsidiary. Mike has a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, an MBA from the University of Colorado, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and is a veteran of the U.S. Navy submarine service.

Jeff Weekley
Controller & SVP
Diamond Generating Corporation

Jeff serves as controller for tax and accounting for Diamond Generating Corporation and Diamond Generating LLC. Prior to joining Diamond, Jeff was with Southern California Edison where he managed Edison’s SEC reporting, technical accounting and Sarbanes Oxley efforts. He also held an accounting and finance position in Edison’s Power Procurement Group where he managed accounting and finance efforts related to Edison’s power & gas trading and contract activities. Jeff holds a degree in Economics / Business from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of California.

Isaac Felix

Diamond Generating Corporation

Isaac has over 14 years of experience in accounting, risk management, and finance related fields, primarily in the energy industry. Mr. Felix is focused on adding value through risk reduction, financial analysis and contract structuring, delivering accurate and timely financial reports, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of many corporate finance functions. Isaac previously held various accounting and consulting roles of increasing responsibility at Southern California Edison, Deloitte and JD Clark. Isaac is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of California and hold a B.S. degree in accounting from Utah State University.

Hiromasa Ihara

Hiromasa Ihara is the CEO of Diamond Generating LLC. Hiromasa began his career at the Industrial Bank of Japan before joining Mitsubishi Corporation in 2011. At Mitsubishi Corporation, he has had various roles in the IPP industry and the corporate office including being in charge of MC’s power generation business in Europe and the Middle East. In 2013, Hiromasa was the CEO of Diamond Wind Europe B.V. in the Netherlands where he was in charge of MC’s renewable power generation business focusing on, offshore wind development, construction, financing and operation. Hiromasa was also the CEO of Diamond Transmission Corporation Limited in the UK, leading MC’s offshore transmission business in the UK and Germany.

Bo Buchynsky

Diamond Generating LLC

Bo Buchynsky is the COO of Diamond Generating LLC. Bo is a 28-year employee of the Diamond companies and a 37-year veteran of the Energy Management, Cogeneration, IPP and Renewable Generation industries. He has led the effort to develop, permit, engineer, finance, construct and commission power generation facilities across the US. Prior to joining DGC, Bo worked for Hadson / UltraSystems in the development, permitting, engineering and construction of power projects, including fluidized-bed biomass-facilities, coal-fired cogeneration plants, natural gas combined-cycle facilities and an ethanol plant.

Shinya Sekiguchi

Shinya Sekiguchi is the Chief Financial Officer of Diamond Generating LLC. He is currently involved in overseeing the Accounting/Tax and also the member of Risk Management Committee for IPP projects. He joined Mitsubishi Corporation in 2005 and has built his career mainly in the corporate tax area. Immediately prior to joining Diamond Generating, he spent 3 years at Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas) which is the regional headquarters located in New York where he was in charge of the US consolidated tax filing and planning. Shinya holds a LLB from Keio University.

David Deutsch
SVP Development
Diamond Generating LLC

David is responsible for project and business development activities throughout the US for DGC; and is a 22-year veteran of the power industry, with increasing levels of responsibility in areas ranging from power trading and scheduling to developing, acquiring, and financing various power projects. Prior to joining DGC, David was SVP of business development for a C&I solar company and director of acquisitions and development at both International Power America and Duke Energy North America, where he led 15 transactions totaling over $4.5 billion. David has a BA in economics from Lehigh University, an MBA in finance from The University of Texas at Austin; and has also passed multiple parts of the Casualty Actuarial Society’s Fellowship Exams.

Paul Shepard
SVP Operations
Diamond Generating LLC

Paul has over 20 years of experience in the power industry with a comprehensive background in Asset Management, financial planning & analysis, and EPC managing power projects for Fluor, Duke Energy North America, Constellation Energy and Diamond Generating. Paul has been the direct asset manager for multiple projects across a diverse technology range including coal, biomass, geothermal, hydro, wind, solar and gas-fired generation. Paul has performed commercial functions ranging from structuring for production tax credits to leading the construction of a power plant in Alberta Canada. Paul has a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Jun Kikuchi
VP Latin Americas
Diamond Generating LLC

Jun Kikuchi is the General Director of Diamond Generation Corporation Mexico (DGCM). Jun is stationed in Mexico City. As our IPP subsidiary in Mexico, DGCM provides asset management services for Tuxpan II & V natural gas combined-cycle projects in Veracruz ;and also provides O&M service for Energia Eolica del Sur wind project in Oaxaca. Prior to joining Diamond in 2014, Jun worked for Mitsubishi Corporation’s EPC trading business for power plant projects in Europe, Africa, Central Asia and South-East Asia countries for 18 years.
