Overview

The Kearny Mesa Battery Storage Project is a 1-megawatt (MW) battery storage facility located in San Diego California. DGC built, owns and operates Kerney Mesa which is able to discharge 4 megawatt-hour MWh of electricity over a continuous four hour period. Kearny Mesa is located at a manufacturing site and will be the first of its kind in the State of California. The facility was partially financed under California’s Self-Generation Incentive program. It provides a combination of traditional behind-the-meter services and will also provide front-of-the-meter regulation up and regulation down services to the California ISO (CAISO) via a CAISO meter.
